Chris Baker
Chris Baker was born in Illinois in 1968. He had a formal education in music theory and orchestration, but was self-taught on guitar. He came to Georgia in 1987 seeking music and opportunity.
In 1988 He formed Ghost Story, a melodic metal group that went on to do 2 demos before splitting up in 1991. After a series of uneventful drummer auditions, Mr. Baker became jaded and discouraged with the local metal scene……He then used His secret talents of magic and sorcery to completely disappear from the world for 8 years, before returning to the Atlanta music scene again in 2001. Not willing to play lame music, He refused to join other groups that didn’t meet that very high standard. Finally, in January of 2006, Stephen Morley and Kevin Freeman recruited Mr. Baker to pull string duty for Gnostic. The combination of style, musicianship, and talents fit the bill for Mr. Baker and the boys of Gnostic equally. On January 15 it became official: Mr. Baker was acquired by Gnostic Incorporated.
